Martin
Walde

* 1957

For many years now, Martin Walde’s artistic ventures have been characterized by elements of chance, entropy and the mysterious. His glass and silicone sculptures expand the traditional concept of sculpture. The sculptural process is incorporated in the creative procedure. This process-like nature is also reflected in his drawings. Obsession and transformation form the foundations of his works. A communicative process changes our way of looking at an object, either through cartoon-like, talking drawings or through instructions in his installations and sculptures.

The artist, born in Innsbruck in 1957, lives and works in Vienna.
