Schwarz-Weismann

Born in Innsbruck, the artist lives and works in Vienna. From 1998 to 2002, Michaela Schwarz-Weismann studied architecture and product design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Professor Paolo Piva, among others. In 2004/05, she completed a master’s degree at the Royal College of Art, London. In 2002, she received the prize of the Province of Tyrol for excellent diploma theses. In the following year, the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior purchased her large altar for the chapel of the Mauthausen concentration camp memorial site, and she also designed the chapel window. In 2006, the artist was chosen to participate in the exhibition at Kunstbrücke Innsbruck, presented as part of the Art Awards of Raiffeisen Landesbank Tirol. Michaela Schwarz-Weismann’s works have been shown in numerous international exhibitions and are represented in renowned collections.
